QR Code Detector scans QR codes — and barcodes such as EAN, UPC, Code 128, Data Matrix, PDF417 and Aztec — from your camera, your screen, your open tabs, and images you choose. All scanning happens on your device. The extension makes no network requests — nothing you scan is ever uploaded anywhere.
You can delete any history entry or clear all of it inside the extension. Uninstalling the extension removes everything it stored.
Nothing. QR Code Detector has no accounts, no ads, and no analytics inside the extension. We do not collect, sell, or share any personal data.
The "Rate us" and "Contact us" controls open a page or a Google Form in a new tab. Anything you type there is sent only because you chose to submit it, and reaches us by email. Our help pages on the web (like the welcome page) may use standard visit counters (Yandex.Metrica) to count page views; the extension itself contains none.
Because your data stays on your device, you are in direct control: view, edit, or erase your history right in the extension. If you live in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA), you also have rights to access, correct, and delete personal data, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them — we do not sell or share personal information. For any request, write to the address below.
QR Code Detector is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
If this policy changes, we will update the date below. The current version always lives at this address.
